| ODDS: | Nordiques by 2 goals |
| OVER/UNDER: | 6 goals |
The Bruins are coming off one of the best games I have seen them play in years, a 4-3 loss to the Kingers, in which the Kings had 2 lucky bounces to seal the deal. The Nords are coming off a HUGE 4-2 win over the Leafs where they were outplayed the last 2 periods. Fortunately the Nordiques had Turner in net and the Leafs shoot like pre-teen girls.
The Bruins found a groove with a first line combination of Jordan McGee - Mike Marrazzo - Stevie Geiger, which figured into all 3 of their goals. They are a great combination of speed, skill and smarts and can do a ton of damage if they are kept together.
to be continued.....
Continued......Ok, well I apparently got blasted for not even knowing Matty Marrazzo's first name. Oh well, I never liked that guy anyways!
The Bruins also seemed to have cleaned up their act, but staying out of the penalty box and only taking 2 penalties from resident goon Johnny McGee and Matthew "Not the guy from Friends" Perry. Apparently the wise words from this reporter regarding the excessive time spent in the box hit home....or at least I will think that I had a small part in the turn around.
The Nordiques need new guy Richie McKenna to show up to balance out the lack of speed as well as attack John Chamberlain with a barrage of shots. Chambo is great in close and takes up a ton of the net, but seems to freeze on shots from mid to high slot. It does take a well aimed shot to get passed those obviously ILLEGAL pads.
That's all I got. I'm rooting for the Nordiques on this one!!!
Nordiques battle Bruins to a 5-4 win.
The Bruins were coming off of their best game in a couple years.....a tough 4-3 loss to the Kingers which consisted of 2 lucky bounces not in the Bruins favor. The Nordiques were coming off of a hard fought 4-2 (empty netter) win over the gritty Maple Leafs. It didn't take long for Bruins blue liner Scotty "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" Fraser to put his team down a man with his first of 4 penalties in the first period. Fraser's high stick allowed Greg "SENSORED FOR OVERLY SENSITIVE PLAYER" Marsh to net a power play goal just 1 minute and 38 seconds into the game. The two teams battled back and forth for the remainder of the period as Fraser took a double minor 6 minutes in on a high stick and then a rough as he frustratingly threw Poli "The Nightmare" Nightingale into the boards......3 penalties. Apparently Scotty wanted to get booted so that he could get to the bar, Off The Green, before McBuffaloWings finished off all the blue cheese in a gluttonous display of self hatred. Therefore, Fraser took his 4th penalty on a tripping call, sending him to the showers and that glorious Buffalo Wing enhancer. I would like to point out that Fraser DID take all of his penalties like a man and didn't say a word to the refs. End of 1, 1-0 Nords.
Matthew "Not the 'Friends' Guy" Perry started off the 2nd period with an unassisted goal and only 28 seconds in. The Bruins started to gel when Jordan "Local Legend" McGee buried a pass from Mark "Chubby Goateed Guy" Weglarz at the 3:43 mark to put the Bruins up 3-1. Things only got worse from there as Matty "Mike" Marrazzo beat Shawn "McDoormat" McDermott 1 on 1 for a short handed goal with only 1:50 remaining in the 2nd. Marrazzo picked up a loose puck at the Bruins Blue Line, beat Park like a rented Mule on a toe drag, then McDoormat forced him wide. Turner made a nice save, but the puck fell to the right of the net and as Marrazzo was falling backwards he roofed the puck over a kneeling Turner from a foot away. NASTY. The Nords fired back with a scud missle as Drew "The Craponator" Crapser let a one timer bullet go from the point, right along the ice past a sliding Johnny "Twinky Spokesman" Chamberlain, with only 50 seconds remaining. After 2, 3-2 Bruins.
After getting walked all over in the 2nd period, Nordiques Captain / Player / Coach / Motivational Speaker / Token Gay Guy Tao "I love to just sweat with the guys" Smith gave a classic pick me up speech where he told everyone to "Love the Puck" and used every single hockey coaching analogy he could possibly think of. I think this speech drove the Nordiques mad with confusion and got them all to drop everything and get back to the basics. The Nords came out flying and tied the game up at the 2:39 mark as "The Nightmare" cleaned up some garbage in front of the net off of a Park rebound. Mikey "Man CRUSH" O'Neil had visions of Bayley dancing in his head as he put the Nords back up on top and finished a Melrose "Special" pass.
The Bruins weren't about to lay down and continued to press. The line of Marrazzo, Jordan McGee & Stevie "Ray" Geiger continued to play well with exceptional puck control and McGee tied the game up 4-4 halfway through the 3rd frame. The Captain, Tao Smith, got his 2nd goal of the year and the game winner with only 2:42 remaining. The Bruins continued to press until the buzzer sounded, and had their chances on a retarded icing by Park and a SELFISH empty net try Drew "Dr. Spin-O-Rama" Crapser.

 | Who is Mike Marrazzo? Nov 5th, 2007 11:11 PM
Is this like the "Find Waldo" books, or "Where in the World is Matt Laurer"? Kelly F'n Park doesn't even know the names or correct spellings of the players whom he writes such hateful and nasty things about! Methinks Mike Marrazzo is the long lost (gay) identical twin of B's power winger extrordinaire MATT Marrazzo - how about that, huh? Well, where do I start about this match-up? The Nords are like a team with their head cut off, a team with no longer any team game to be found, are missing a lost superstar with the heart of a lion that has forced the Nords to look long and hard in the mirror at themselves to reveal their many shortcomings (yeah, yeah, we've heard all the jokes already...), and they are sorely in need of a coach and a practice or two, maybe even a chalk talk! The B's are on their way up, or so I have heard, and they apparently gave the Kingers all they could handle last week, so if the Nords don't show up ready to play, then they are doomed, even with JT in net. I predict a 1-goal game or a shootout! Flip a coin, because we don't know which team will show up...at either end of the ice! kpark Quechee, VT

Sorry Matty, I know better than that. I wrote that at midnight the other night. I was TRASHED off of wine-coolers too, I could barely see the screen.
As for the rest of the pre-game write-up. I don't know if I'll have time to get to it. Maybe I'll finish it now. HMMM, decisions decisions. | |
