UPDATED UVHL Playoff Summary 2006-07!!!

UVHL 2006-07 PLAYOFF SUMMARY: Quarterfinals: Storm Kings 7, Leafs 5 The Storm Kings defeated the Leafs in a hard pressed forechecking scorefest, but the best team won. Avs 7, Bruins 2 The Avs wanted this one bad, and the dominated most of the game hoping to gain momentum for their first Whanen Cup. Semi-Finals: Storm Kings 3, Nords 1 The Storm Kings out-Nordiqued the Nordiques and were once again the better team on this night in all aspects of the game. They played hard, smart, tough, clean, and took advantage of 3 PPG en route to the 3-1 victory over their rivals. Tuck 5, Avs 1 Tuck spanked the Avs from end to end with barely 2 lines and proved that they were the deepest team, even though McSelfish scored on the first play of the game and thought it would be an early rout for the Avs, but Tuck had other things in mind with Dartmouth Club goalie Jeremy Siedling in net looking for revenge for the reg. season loss to the Avs only a couple of games ago. Finals: 5th Place Game: Bruins 5, Leafs 2 The Bruins wanted it more, and it showed on the ice and on the scoreboard, but the Leafs played hard and didn't make it easy for the Bruins to leapfrog them into 5th place. 3rd Place Game: Nords 4, Avs 3 The Nords came back from a 2-goal deficit and from being dominated for the first half of the game only to dominate the second half to beat the Avs for 3rd place bragging rights in an absolutely great UVHL contest. Whalen Cup Championship: Tuck 3, Storm Kings 1 Was there any doubt? The Commish's first month pick for Whalen Cup glory comes out on top as the best, and deepest, UVHL team ever raises Pop Whalen's Cup and drinks sweet golden lager from its silver basin. This Tuck team was FAR better than the '05 Tuck team that won two years ago, and would spank them head-to-head in a heartbeat. Tuck now has two Cups in three years, and two of four total, matching the Nordiques and earning eternal men's A league glory. Greg Hadley, the Bruins G and GM, added to his personal championshp ring totals in subbing net for Tuck, and once again brought his A-game when it mattered most.
