After another stellar regular season where the top-seeded Gamblers choked in the playoffs, the G-Men are looking for a fresh start. After losing all-pro Goaltender Jered Condon to a debilitating ego injury, Jeremy "The Dirty Seed" Seidling takes over between the pipes. Can Seidling live up to the legacy left behind by Condon? Will the Gamblers fall back into a defensive system to protect their young netminder? Will Willy Meyer ever slow down? These are all questions that will be answered in week one's nightcap.
The Nordiques on the other hand have added all-star defenseman Ryan "The Govenator" McGovern and have had goaltender Johnny "Temper Tantrum" Turner in anger management classes and the Jillian Michaels exercise routine.
If the Nordiques can score some goals, this will be a game. If not, the hungry Gamblers will consistently capitalize on turnovers and pull away early in the third frame.
Gamblers 6, Nordiques 4.
Gamblers Continue Dominance of Regular Season with 11-3 Thumping of Nords
This one was about as ugly as it\'s ever been for the Nordiques...getting their asses handed to them on a platter by a dominant Gamblers team. The G-Men, were outstanding as their top line contributed 17 of their teams 21 points on the night, including 8 of 11 goals.
The Gamblers addition of two new defenseman, Nick \"The Stick\" MacDonald & Ryan \"The Boogieman\" Bergeron helped to solidify their backend, allowing Marc \"The Narc\" Gattie to move to forward.
In net for the Gamblers was Jeremy \"The Seed\" Seidling, who has taken over the starting gig from retired all-star Jered Condon. Seidling was good enough for the win tonight, and that is probably due to \"his \'Grundy-like\' pre-game ritual.\" Seidling didn\'t see very much action in the first, but was called upon once or twice in the last few frames to keep it to an 8 goal lead for the G-Men.
The Nordiques where horrific, starting with their goaltender Johnny \"Temper Tantrum\" Turner and vibrating through every player on the roster. \"I was horrible, maybe it was that 7th scone and 3rd cappuccino I had before the game...put that in the write-up\" said Turner as he showered in his own tears after the game. Turner let in a career high 11 goals, some of them were his fault, the rest belonged to the bag of shit called a team in front of him.
Although, we should give credit where credit is due. The Gamblers picked up where they left off during last year\'s regular season. The MMA like of Meyer, Marrazzo & Ammel were spectacular, amassing 8 goals and 17 points. Willy \"Weeble\" Meyer dropped in 4 of those goals for the first star.
The Nordiques have a bit of work to do for the upcoming season, and the Gamblers put yet another mark on their backs as the team to beat.
This is the hit I'm going to put on Willy Meyer tonight! It's going to be GLORIOUS!

Gamblers will start 0-1 Oct 18th, 2011 05:15 PM
Lets get the season off right, Nords! The Gamblers will go to Bentley's crying in their post-game beer & wings. Wait... they never show up at Bentley's, so they'll just cry in the locker room.
GO NORDS!
See you on the ice!

I eat my words... well, some of them at least. Oct 19th, 2011 04:05 AM
You guys were goooooood tonight, and I tip my hat to a superior opponent that played hard, clean, and made me work. Not too often Parky & I give up two goals in a shift. Twice.
However, you guys are so lame for being a no-show at Bentley's post-game. C'mon, Man!
