#3 Nordiques @ #6 Dead River
| ODDS: | Nordiques By 2 Goals |
| OVER/UNDER: | 8 Goals |
The Nords have taken all three games this season against the struggling Dead River Icemen. The last two have been nail-biter wins coming down to one goal. The Nords have welcomed back Jordy "McWing" McGee and his return has rekindled their offense which had been stagnant for months.
Dead River is a motley crew of outcasts and alternates. Led by Greg "WAGHIP" Hadley, only in spirit because he is pretty useless on the ice, Dead River shocked the Whalers last week 6-3, but their defense was bolstered by the Gambler's MacDonald and Bergeron. The issue is that the Gamblers play the late game and most likely won't show up early to help out Dead River.
Look for this game to be tight in the first and then open up in the second half. The Nordiques will take it 5-3 on an empty netter.
Nordiques Upset 6-3 By Dead River
The Nords were a two goal favorite in this one, but their superior record and favoritism in Vegas weren\'t enough to dismantle the last placed Dead River squad. Dead River jumped out early, saw their lead slashed in the third only to be rescued in the end by an alternate.
Dead River\'s Greg \"Red Light\" Bin Feiden was the first star of the game, earning just the third win of the season, but standing tall with 24 saves on the net and a very respectable 3 goals allowed. \"Feiden was ho, he made some huge saves and kept us out of it\" recalled a frustrated Nordiques forward.
Dead River used five different goal scorers in the win, with Jay \"Zamboni\" Zanleoni potting two late in the game as the proverbial nails in the coffin. Kyle \"The Sherpa\" Koetsier, Jason \"The Bling\" Gramling and Bruce \"The Goose\" Kordecki all scored in the first period. The Nords only tally in the first came off the stick of Robbie \"Lit tle Debbie\" Debevoise.
Jason \"Loopy\" Loomis made it 4-1 with 7:44 remaining in the second period for the eventual game winner and earning him the third star of the game. Loomis also chipped in an assist in the first period.
The Nordiques battled back with a late second period goal and early third period goals from their elder statesmen, Ian \"Toothless\" Coates and Roger \"The Dirty Dentist\" Phillips. The game was 4-3 for close to eight minutes before Zanleoni opened things up and put the game out of reach for the Noridque

Nobody informed me of the mascot change. Does this mean we get new jerseys? If we're going to continue to degrade the quality of the league, I think we're going to need more style. hkydoc WRJ, VT

I can't remember the last time we played so horribly... Congrats to the Dead River squad on their win - they deserved it and we didn't rise to the challenge.
