| ODDS: | Kingers by 4 goals |
| OVER/UNDER: | 11 goals |
Kingers by 4 goals may seem a bit low against this Bruins squad who will be sure to take a record amount of penalties against the hard battling Storm Kings squad. The Bruins took an unprecedented 10 penalties....20 minutes....last week in their tilt against Tuck. I'm not quite sure how you can even think that you might win a game when you are short handed 20 minutes out of 45. This is obviously horrible captainmanship.......yes I just made that up, but that old man, Hadley, needs to sit his guys down and teach them how to play old man's hockey.
The Kingers are coming off of a solid win & a good comeback shootout loss to the Nordiques. The arrival of Kingers Sex Machine, Ricky Hughes has invigorated this short bench, not to mention the addition of newcomer Sir Ian Gill. He may be related to Hal Gill, not quite sure but I'll have to check my references.
The Kingers will be adding another body to that bench on Tuesday night, when Upper Valley LEGEND, Jay "The Poet" Campion makes his first appearance in the "U" since amassing 14 games with the Avalanche last season.
It will be interesting to see if the Bruins can contain themselves this week, seeing as they have a problem with bitching and complaining about EVERYTHING out on the ice. The Refs have made it abundantly clear that this will not be tolerated, and will be rewarded with 2 in the sin bin and a lifetime of shame. The Kingers have a history of playing rough and hard, but NEVER complain about a call, which draws great respect from me.
Chambo has been the back bone of the Bruins squad, making 112 FREAKING saves on 121 shots. He's big and has been fundamentally STRONG this season, but if the Bruins defense can't clear out the front of the net, they are DOOMED.
FAST FACTS:
- The Bruins lead the league with 36 penalty minutes in 3 games!!!!
- The Kingers are second with 22 penalty minutes.
- The Bruins have the top 2 PIM leaders, John McGee(8) & Fraser(6)
OVER / UNDER & ODDS
- Odds that Artie Stout will take a penalty (2-1)
- Odds that John McGee will take a penalty (2-1)
- Over / Under on saves by Chambo (40)
- Over / Under on saves by Turner (30)
- Odds that Marty White will ahve a heart attack (2-1)
- Odds that Greg Hadley will score (100-1)
Storm Kings beat Bruins 4-3 on a couple of lucky bounces.
The late game, which I dubbed the "Penalty Event of the Century" ended up being a hard fought clean battle. This was probably one of the best games that I've seen the Bruins play in years, and they came out FLYING in this game. They played a chess match through the first 8 minutes, feeling each other out like cage fighters, preparing for the big take down. With 6:57 remaining in the 1st period, Matty "The Milkman" Marrazzo delivered on a great individual effort as he faked inside on Artie "Scarface" Stout, then went outside with speed and cut to the crease roofing a backhander over a downed John "I won't return your call" Turner. Stevie "Oh, the check is in my truck" Geiger beat Turner with another BACKHANDER up over the blocker on a nice pass from Jordan McGee.
The Bruins, who aren't bright enough to bring enough jersey's without duplicate #'s, outplayed the Kingers in the first, but it usually takes the Kings at least a period to get into a grove. Bob "The Price is Right" Barker beat John "Super Chunk" Chamberlain in the low slot on a nice pass from Leroy behind the net. The decrepid old man Marty White let a slap shot fly that beat Super Chunk blocker side, tying the game at 2-2. All tied up after 2.
The 3rd period started off on a bad note when Artie Stout took a stick to the face giving him 2 large GASHES at the top of his nose. Unfortunately it was actually the second time that night he had been cut in an "ACCIDENTAL" play. After I expertly cleaned up Artie, he looked like a cross between a leper & a mummy. Artie didn't even complain, didn't bitch or whine to the refs, he just wanted to know if they saw who got him. I on the other hand would have cried, screamed, rolled on the ground, threatened every Bruin player and then probably pissed myself just a little bit. Things did seem to balance out for the Kingers when Dean "The Dream" Cashman flipped the puck in on the net, which Dave "De Little Guy" DeSchamps tried to play right in front of his goal. The puck took a funny bounce, jumped up and hit DeSchamps shaft, tipping it past a sleeping and or drunk Chambo. I'm not quite sure why Chambo was already down like a cheap hooker at the Shady Lawn motel in White River Junction during Fall Foliage Season. Another bad bounce off of Geiger's skate right to Ian Gill allowed him to walk right in on Chambo and beat him a foot off of the ice, blocker side. I think Chambo was still down from that last play. The Bruins battled on, getting within one with 7:25 remaining when Jordan McGee, Geiger and Marrazzo ran a perfect 3 on 1. McGee dropped the puck to Geiger in the slot who returned the puck back down low to McGee. Turner tried to dive since he was set for the shot from the slot, but McGee just tipped the puck along the ice under Turner.
That's how the game ended 4-3. The Bruins outshot the Kingers 33 to 30 and both goaltenders made some great plays. I personally think the MVP should go to Greg "WAGHIP" Hadley as he didn't touch the ice and stayed behind the bench, which actually gave his team a shot. I think the Bruins have finally found a top line with Matty Marrazzo, Jordan McGee & Stevan Geiger scoring all 3 of the B's goals. That threesome skate, shoot & pass very well and should be fun to watch the rest of the season. Kingers new guy, Robbie Barker put on a stick handling clinic a couple of times in the Bruins end, and should fill that gaping hole left by Coakley & Hogg.

 | Funniest write-ups yet... ever! Nov 2nd, 2007 10:19 PM
I was exhausted after a long week and decided to check in on the UVHL. I was happy to see the write-ups and stats update. I laughed so hard I woke up both of my children as my wife threatened a divorce! Funny stuff Kelly. Great job.
Thanks,
