| ODDS: | Nords by 4 |
| OVER/UNDER: | 12 |
The Nords come into this week on a high after they defeated Tuck with just seconds left on the clock last week. The Nords only had 7 skaters and played one of their best games to date. The Nords are led by Jamie Solon who is not only leading his team but also the league in scoring. The Nords have more then him though, they have solid defense and goaltending.
The Whalers come into this week after another tough loss and they are the only team in the league to not have a win. The Whalers issue is that they can't get enough guys to show up each week but if they get enough this week, they could give the Nords a run for their money. The Whalers are lead by Scotty Shaw, and James Kerrigan . If they can get Woody Redpath show up that top line could cause trouble for the Nords tonight.
The Nords will win this one 8-4, the Nords offense has been firing on all cylinders lately. This should be a fun game to watch.
The Nords come into this week on a high after they defeated Tuck with just seconds left on the clock last week, meanwhile the Whalers come into this week after another tough loss and they are the only team in the league to not have a win. Both teams managed to show up with ten skaters a side even though Christmas was a few days away. The Nords came out ready to play and started peppering Lallier right from the start; the Nords got the game\"s first goal just about 3 minutes into the game from Greg Marsh who was set up by Ian Coates who was subbing for the Nords tonight. Just thirty seconds later the Whalers answered back, James Kerrigan beat JT on a nice pass from Patrick Riley. Play was even for the next four or so minutes until the Whalers took the lead at 7:49 when Tom Crapser was set up by Dillan Pierce. It didn\"t take long for the Nords to answer back; Stu Grande put home a rebound off a James Solon shot to tie the game up. Then at 3:37 Solon took matters into his own hands as he skated into the offensive zone after receiving a pass from Pierce Mayhew. Once he entered the zone he beat the defenseman and roofed the puck past Lallier\'s glove and knocked the water bottle off, put the Nords up 3-2. The Whalers found themselves chasing the Nords which turned into them getting a tripping penalty at the 2:11 mark in the period. On the power play the Nords were able to increase their lead on a goal from Roger Phillips who was set up by Billy Sailer and Ryan McGovern. This goal put the Nords up 4-2 and ending the period strong.
The second period started with the Whalers taking another penalty in the first two minutes but they were able to kill that one off. They built some momentum off the kill and were able to pull within a goal after Scotty Shaw beat JT. The Nords responded after giving up this goal but they were not able to get a puck past Lallier in the second period, the period end with the Nords up 4-3.
The third period started out with the Whalers pushing to get the tying goal but the Nords were able to capitalize first. James Solon put the Nords up 5-3 at the 9:29 mark in the period. They didn\"t waste any time getting another goal to extend the lead to 3 at the 8:11 mark, when Pierce Mayhew beat Lallier after getting set up from Stu Grande and Ian Coates. Just thirty seconds after going up by three goals the Nords took two penalties in a row, on the second power play the Whalers were able to capitalize as Ryan Foss beat JT with a shot to make the score 6-4. After giving up a power play goal the Nords responded back with 3 goals in the final five minutes. The first goal came from no other then the league\"s leading scorer, Jamie Solon. Then just 30 seconds later Roger Phillips got his second of the night from Kelly Park and Solon. The last goal of the night came from Greg Marsh to put the Nords up 9-4 as they cruised to their third straight win to put them in second place in the standings. The Nords have come together as a team and playing really good hockey at the holiday break.
