The Dead River Rats have played some solid games this year, two of the past 3 have been excellent. 3 weeks ago they battled back from a 3-0 deficit against the Nordiques and fell just short in a 3-2 loss. Last week they took the #1 ranked Gamblers to a 4-2 loss, an impressive feat considering the Gamblers have averaged 6 goals per game this season and Dead River has allowed almost 6 and a half goals per game. The Nordiques just got beat up by the Whalers last week 7-4. Tonight they will be without their star Jordy "McBreakaway" McGee and his 13 points in 6 games. They will also be without the services of star defenseman Alexandra "Zig" Zagaria. Without those two, they are clearly weaker at both ends of the ice. This should be an interesting game as both teams have only one player with at least a point per game playing tonight. The Nordique's Pierce "Mayhem" Mayhew(2g, 4a in 6gp) and Dead River's TJ "Money" Moran (3g, 5a in 7gp). Can Dead River dig deep and get their first win of the season? Can the Nordiques put up any goals without Jordy "McBreakaway" McGee and his speed? Will Dead River's Matty "Tazzy" Albertazzi be as good as he was last week against the Gamblers? Will the Nordique's Johnny "Temper Tantrum" Turner be as bad as he was last week against the Whalers? Lots of questions. We'll find out soon enough. Vegas says the Nordiques will win it 4-3, I have a feeling that if Dead River is going to win any game this season...this is the one that they will pull out.
