Last time these two teams faced off the Whalers took it to the Nordiques 5-3. The difference in this game was the defense, specifically the Nordique's pairing of Shawn "McPylon" McDermott and Kelly "McTurnover" Park. Those two were atrocious in the loss and were the main reason the Nordiques lost. The McShitty Twins have played a little better as of late, but only time will tell if they can stop the Whaler's dynamic offense. The historical data tells us that the Nordiques boast a 31-15 record against the Whalers, but after being the laughing stock of the league for years and racking up high draft picks the Whalers have won 5 of the last 7 meetings between these two teams. The Whalers have 4 players in the top 20 in scoring this season. "Jumbo" Joe Gaudet leads the league with 20 goals and 12 assists in 8 games. Scott "Sugar" Shaw ranks 7th with a 9-9-18 stat line in 7 games, followed by Jay "Zamboni" Zanleoni(7-7-14 in 9GP) and Dillon "Pickle" Pierce(3-5-8 in 8GP). Whalers win 5-4...probably in the last minute of play.
