Revamped Tuck Throttles Dead River 8-2

Over the summer, the depleted Tuck franchise was distraught. Returning just 5 players from last years squad seemed disastrous, but turns out to be a blessing. Their revamped roster netted 8 goals, let up only 2 and kept Dead River to just 27 shots on goal. Leading the charge for Tuck was Brandon \"The Harry One\" Harrington(2g, 1a), Jeffry \"Woodstock One\" Wannp(1g, 2a) and Eric \"Ratatouille\" Rautiola(2g). Harrington & Wannop had some nice chemistry tonight as the two former Ivy Leaguers assisted on each others goals and talked evolution, politics and abstract math between shifts. Dead River was also a team in disarray last season, finishing last in the UVHL. Considered by many as a rebuilding year, the 2010-2011 UVHL champs are returning just four players. New addition\'s Geoff Noble and Dougie \"LightTops\" Heavisides both chipped in a goal and assist early in this game. Tuck got on the board first just 2:45 into the game when John Curry threw a backhander through Matty \"The Eagle\" Crowson\'s gaping 5-hole. Heavisides tied the game after roofing his own rebound over Mike Devine halfway through the first. Crowson got some help with under six minutes left in the first from the posts, as Tuck rang two of them like church bells in under 8 seconds. With 4:25 remaining in the first, Harrington took a nice feed from Wannop and put the biscuit where Crowson hides the peanut butter(That\'s top shelf, glove side for you non-hockey lovers). 24 seconds later Harrington returned the favor to his new best bud Wannop for the 3-1 lead. They fired 54 shots on goal Dead River got back into the game just 63 seconds into the second frame when \"LightTops\" found Trevor Bayliss on the backdoor with the man advantage. Unfortunately for Dead River, that was about as good as it was going to get. Tuck scored the next 5 goals, 2 in the second period and a trio in the third. \"Ratatouille\" scored two of those goals, Mike \"No relation to the other Nowaks\" Nowak getting his first, Harrington sniping his second of the game and Michael White starting his UVHL career on a high note. In the end, Tuck had too much firepower for Dead River, used six different goal scorers and had stellar goaltending from Devine.
