Does anyone care if I do these anymore? We barely get any feedback, game comments, or trash talk...it feels like I am wasting my time. If I'm not, then send us some shit for fuck's sake!!!
Even odds in this one tonight. Tuck looks good, and the Brewers took a step backwards last week losing to Dead River. I expect a low scoring contest decided by 1 goal...and I also expect Garren Poirier to get at least 3 penalties related to stick offenses. Bartline needs to rebound with a good game as he has not had his A-game the last two appearances. Yacey hasn't had a below average game yet, but the only player that I have seen beat him cleanly is the Brewers' Nick Bayley, so I'm looking forward to watching this match-up once again. I'm calling it even, but am leaning towards Tuck by 1.
Late Power Play Lifts Tuck Passed Brew Crew: 2-1.
I only saw about 40% of this match-up, but what i saw was a very even and quickly paced game. Both teams were spreading the puck out well, were forechecking, backchecking, and were having solid defensive and good offensive plays. Obviously, the defensive plays dominated. Bartline found his game again after two below average tilts, and Yacey was solid as usual.
The funniest play I saw was CJ putting his hands up in the air after he thought he had scored a goal on a cross-crease pass into a mostly open net only to skate past dejected once he saw the puck wasn't in the net and was headed back up ice already! I think the puck was shot just wide and then Tuck broke out of the zone with it as CJ looked on - he just couldn't believe it! Another good one was Garren Poirier raping a Tuckie with hooks and slashes chasing him down on a breakaway and NOT getting the penalty. Poirier smiled as he went by the scorebox and shrugged his shoulders knowing he got away with one.
It was good to see some Tuckies there that haven't graced the UVHL ice in a few weeks, namely Helming, who is such a force both defensively and offensively for Tuck. With Helming and McGovern on the ice nobody can score, and if you spit them up into separate D pairings you've got a solid 1-2 punch from the back end.
The Brewers are 0-2 in their new white jerseys, but still look good!

| Good one park... Jan 14th, 2010 12:10 PM
Wow that was a zinger there parky!!
I wanted to go ahead and say this game was the way UVHL hockey is supposed to be played. No whining, great Refs, and a complete and total respect for each others teams. I respect Tuck a lot, everyone on there team plays hockey and doesnt whine about a little stick check here or there (its part of the game). My hat goes off to Tuck and the Brew Crew as they are two class squads!!

KP McD does say he thinks Garren has some talented stickwork, and has also stated that he would like him to keep it down...hmmm you have me wondering here hkydoc WRJ, VT

Tuck is a class act, aren't they? Gattie and Z do a solid job, too.
