With Ramuntos coming off a very impressing win last week can they keep it going? Ramuntos was led by Matt Littler (3g 1a) and Jusin Lawrence (1g 3a) but they have more then just these two with there offseason recruits and Tazzi in net.

The Nords are coming off a dominating win last week vs the Jacks. The Nords were led by Jamie Sloan and Pierce Mayhew both had 1g 2a, like Ramuntos they have picked up some key new players, Adrien Melrose and Billy Sailer.

Both teams are coming off strong opening nights, this one will be very close with the Nords taking it 5-3 as JT shutti down the Littler/Lawrence combination.

The game of the night

As predicted this game lived up to the game of the night and both teams came ready to play. The game started off with a very fast pace with end to end action. With about 6 minutes left in the first period JT made a huge save on Ramuntos as they came down on a 2-0 but he shut the door. The Nords came back after the big save and ended up striking first with Roger Phillips hitting Jamie Sloan backdoor with a pretty pass at 5:36 for games first goal. The last 5 minutes of the period ended with both teams going end to end but neither team able to score.

The second period the Nords came out wanting to make a statement, and did so quickly. Jamie Sloan struck again for his second goal of the game from Roger Phillips and Pierce Mayhew. Just 38 seconds later the Nords struck again as Greg Marsh scored on a tip in from an Adrien Melrose extending the lead 3-0 with a little over 13 minutes left in the second. You would think that with a 3-0 lead and that much time left in the game they were going to walk away with it, well think again. At the 10:50 mark the Nords Billy Sailer gets called for a tripping penalty which helped get Ramunto's started on there come back. Mathew Littler scored his first goal of the night on the power play from TJ Moran. The second period had no more scoring however Ramunto's was pressuring hard with JT coming up with 13 saves in the second frame.

The third period started with Ramunto's taking two penalties and giving the Nords a 5 on 3 opportunity on the power play with a chance to extend there lead and put the game out of hand. The Nords however made a mistake on the PP and that let Mathew Littler go in on a breakaway beating JT to make it 3-2 with a short handed goal. Ramunto's manages to escape the 5-3 without giving up a goal and keeping the lead 3-2 but not for long as Greg Marsh scores his second goal of the night as Adrien Melrose sprung Marshy on a breakaway to give the Nords a 4-2 lead. On the insuming face off Ramunto's wins the face off and the puck goes to Littler who carries the puck in and takes a shot, the rebound bounces back out to him and he hits TJ Moran with a nice pass who puts it in the back of the net just 10 seconds after the Nords goal making it 4-3 Nords. The third period continued with both teams pressing but then the Nords took another penalty giving Ramunto's another chance to tie the game. On the power play Ramunto's was able to cash in with Dave Willis scoring on a nice pass from Tim Barrett and Jason Rasco with 4:56 left in the third. The last five minutes saw Nords pressuring hard but couldn't get anything passed Tazzi as he finshes the third period with 19 saves!

Rnd 2. Nords- Roger Phillips comes in straight and dekes 5-hole- NO GOAL- Save Tazzi
Rnd 2. RAM- Mathew Littler comes straight down the slot and snipes one high glove side- GOAL


Ramunto's wins 5-4 in a shoot out.

This game lived up to the hype and was a fun one to watch. Even though the Nords were up 3-1 going into the third Ramunto's never gave up and kept playing hard lead by Littler and Tazzi.
