Nords squeak by Hot Hadley in Bruins net in dying second of game!

The Bruins came to play in this game, and they pushed the Nords all game forcing them to hustle for every puck and return to the bench winded even though the Nords had the Bruins outnumbered 3 lines to 2. JT showed up on the ice a couple of minutes late from getting dressed, and the refs had already started the game! By that time Kelly Park had walked through the B's defenders only 14 seconds into the game and tucked in a gentle shot past the half-trying and outstretched Hadley because he didn't want to start the game without a goalie at the other end. It was bullshit, but the goal stood, and in retrospect the Nords should have allowed an empty netter to even things up at 1-1 before JT stood in between the pipes. Mike O'Neil got the assist on the cheap Park goal, and the two continued to battle for supremacy in the scoring race at the bottom of the top 10 UVHL scorers. Derek DeYoung tied the game for the B's at 5:58 from Don Powers and Mike Harrington. Will Meyer answered to make it 2-1 Nords at 4:45 from Ian Coates and Mike O'Neil. The period ended on a penalty to Nords D Drew Crapser who interfered with Matt Marrazzo who had chipped the puck by Crapser and was attempting to chase it into the corner, but Crapser stepped into his way and in the new rules that is interference, so Crapser spent 2 minutes in the box starting at 0:24 with his girlfriend watching from the stands.

There was no scoresheet action in the second, and the two teams battled hard in a 1-goal game late into the third period. Hadley made some fantastic saves with the glove in this game. With B's defender Scott Fraser in the box for tripping at 14:11 of the third, Hadley nabbed a point shot out of the air off the stick of Nords D Tom Dakai that had the top corner labelled. Late in the third DeYoung came down the left side and went behind the net with the puck and threw it in front and it richoched off JT's right pad and into the net to tie the game 2-2 with only 1:55 to go. It was poetic justice and the game deserved to go to a shootout after the Park goal, and with a point the Bruins would leapfrog the Leafs into 5th place. On the last shift of the game Nords D Tom Dakai kept the puck in the offensive zone with some hard work at the point, after he and DeYoung exchanged shots on the whistle before, and with seconds ticking down the puck made its way into the corner to the right of Hadley. Nords center Ian Coates found his favorite target, Will Meyer, somehow alone in the slot and fed Meyer the puck. How Meyer wasn't double teamed we still don't know, but he got off a shot with barely a second left and it went over Hadley's right shoulder and into the net, and then the buzzer sounded for the dramatic win!
