First Period

Farr opened the game denying Maclean “The Valor” Lalor on a wrap-around, slamming the door on the right post like a man protecting the last donut at a staff meeting.

The Mustangs drew first blood when Michael “Big Time Shimmy” Cimis started and finished a gorgeous tic-tac-who-cares play. Trevor White fed him through the neutral zone, Cimis cut east-to-west, slid it to Jody O’Neill, who returned it to White for a back-door try. Cline made a sprawling save that defied physics, but Cimis cruised through and chipped in the rebound for a 1–0 lead.

Farr then answered with two more big stops on Adam Macsata to keep the Mustangs ahead at the break.

Second Period

Early on, Farr robbed Kyle Lockwood with a full-extension blocker save that had the Tuck bench applauding.

Then came the equalizer: Maclean Lalor decided he’d seen enough. Picking up a loose puck in his own end, he gave chase to Cimis, tossed a sarcastic salute to the crowd, and motored coast-to-coast. The Mustangs’ defense collectively backed up like a boy band in rehearsal, giving him space to unleash a screen-shot wrister that caught Farr day-dreaming blocker-side. Tie game, 1–1, and a small child in the stands reportedly shouted, “Do a business plan now!”

Tuck finished the second outshooting the Mustangs 24–16, but the score—and the vibes—remained dead even.

Third Period

Cline came up huge again, stoning James “The Muffin Man” Baker on a breakaway, then shutting down Trevor White after a filthy toe-drag in the slot. His angles were perfect—his glove, smug.

Not to be out-gloved, Farr stuffed Lalor on a clean breakaway, then again on the rebound wrap-around. Baker kept testing Cline late, trying to flex those Dartmouth strength-coach legs, but Cline’s right pad had other ideas.

The Shootout – A Festival of Failure

Ten shooters entered. Ten shooters failed. The ice itself probably considered resigning.

• Kyle Lockwood – Tried to roof one; Farr said, “nope.”
• Will “The Thrill” Mudge – Sent a gentle lob ? 8 mph high; souvenir for row B.
• Maclean Lalor – Fired a low 5-hole; Farr slammed the door like a mom at 10 PM.
• James Baker – Copied Lalor, minus speed and hope; Cline stopped him cold.
• David “The Good” Husband – Tried the same spot; Farr laughed and denied again.
• “Sweet Baby” Ray Nolan – Rung one off the post; Farr winked at him.
• Max Plonsker – Beat everyone but the goalie; save by Farr.
• Chase Engdahl – Stickhandled into a corner and ran out of ideas.
• Connor McCullough – Big head fake, no finish; Farr again.
• Michael Cimis – Tried a mite-level move; Cline barely had to blink.

After that parade of futility, the refs mercifully ended it. A tie! In 2025! The scoreboard almost didn’t believe it.
