MBA on Ice: Tuck’s New Cohort vs. Willy Styles’ Wild Mustangs
The defending Whalen Cup champs from Dartmouth’s b-school (formally: Tuck, informally: the Turduckens) open their 2025–26 campaign against the UVHL’s most unpredictable troupe, the Mustangs. One roster is built on case studies and clean entries; the other, on vibes, duct tape, and a very committed group chat.
Tuck: New Cohort, Same Ambition
By design, Tuck turns over a chunk of its roster every year—capstone projects by day, backchecking by night. This fall, they wave the mortarboard to a core group: defensive backbone Mikey Yablong (15 pts in 12 GP), steady two-way driver Matthew Goff, crease-clearer Jack Torney, agent of chaos Nick “The Stick” Sullivan (team-best 17 pts in 10 GP), and sparkplug Matthew Ouellette. That’s a lot of caps and a lot of production walking at once.
The torch passes to second-years led by blue-line bomber Maclean Lalor (team-high 10 G, 17 P in 11 GP from the back end), power center David Husband (11 P in 10 GP), and speedster Kyle Lockwood (7 P in 8 GP) — whose early injury last year put the offense on an austerity budget until his playoff return.
In net, graduation claimed steady stopper Jenkins Marshall. Word is he’ll be replaced by Bill “The Thrill” Lockwood (no relation confirmed, vibes immaculate). The syllabus for Week 1: don’t let the Mustangs turn it into a track meet.
Mustangs: Herd Mentality (Some Assembly Required)
Year three for the Mustangs begins with goodbyes to Van Bailey (8 P in 9 GP) and Schuyler St. Germain (6 P in 6 GP). The bench doors open for local legend Trevor “Mr. Woodstock” White and crease-guarding folk hero Colin “Far Post” Farr. Holding it all together with gumption and an Excel sheet is Player/GM/Coach Will “Willy Styles” Mudge. Rumor says the roster lists 58 skaters; rumor also says six of them own their own shin pads.
