Nordiques and Dead River Battle

The Nordiques have taken both games this season against Dead River by a combined score of 14-5. Dead River(1-12-0) has been about as inconsistent a team as any in the history of the UVHL. They played Cardigan tough two weeks ago in a 6-5 loss only to be slaughtered last week 11-2 by the Whalers. Their defensive zone coverage is horrendous and until they can play as a unit and protect their goaltender and the slot, it's going to continue to be ugly. The Nordiques have also been a bit inconsistent sporting a 7-6-0 record, granted last week's loss to Cardigan was a forfeit due to trouble finding a netminder for their game. They were world beaters twice this season taking down the Gamblers but six losses, a couple of them were pretty ugly with back to back losses in the final minute of play. The Nordiques are a little too deep and seasoned in the arts of Men's League Hockey for Dead River and should run through them again....7-3.
