Red squeeks past Silver 2-1.
What a game!!! It was a defensive effort between the top two teams in the league as the Silver team tried to hold off the powerhouse Red team. Silver accomplished their goal by only allowing the Red team score twice, but couldn't evoke the scoring Gods and were only able to pot one goal against Kenny Lallier who is up for P.O.W. for an outstanding night. Lallier had approximately 25 saves in the late night showdown and made 5 or 6 outstanding stops. Silver started off the scoring in the middle of the second period when new comer Dan Coffey won a faceoff back to Ben Robbins who took a hard slapshot that beat Lallier through traffic to his blocker side. Mark Turco then tied up the game late in the second period. Gary Hunter potted the game winner in the middle of the third as he flew down the right boards, cut hard behind the net and beat Jon Turner napping on the near post. The only reason the game was as close as it was is because of the effort Jon Turner put forth. Turner made about 9 unbelievable saves to keep his team in the game. Hunter and Turner are both up for player of the week honors for their heroics.
