UPPER VALLEY HOCKEY LEAGUE

In the first game of the night we have the Whalers hosting the Blues. The Whalers are coming into this week off a 9-0 loss to the Gamblers with and 0-2 recored overall.  The Blues come into this week off a bye week and in first place overall with a 2-0 record.  Look for this game to be close as the Whalers are going to show up and give the Blues a run for their money, the Blues will win this game by the score of 3-2 in a shootout.  

In the first game of the night we had the Whalers hosting the undefeated Blues.  The game started out with back and forth action but the league leader in points, TJ Moran would put the Blues up 1-0 just under 3 minutes into the game.   The Whalers wasted no time tying the score up at 1-1 as Marc Stannard would answer right back 33 seconds later.  The period would see no more scoring even though the Whalers would get a PP chance, after one the score was tied 1-1 as the Whalers outshot the Blues 16-11. 

In the second period the Blues Bart Moran would make the score 2-1 less than 2 minutes into the period.  The Blues would add to their lead as TJ Moran and Bart Moran would both get their second goals of the night and put the Blues up 4-1.  The Whalers would get a goal late in the period from Kelly Park who sniped one off the far post and by Seals to make the score 4-2 Blues.  The Blues Tim Sharek would score the last goal of the period with 12 seconds left to put the Blues up 5-2 heading into the third.

In the third period the Blues would pick up right where they left off as Tim Barrett would extend the Blues lead to 6-2 just 58 seconds into the period.  The Whalers would fight back as they would get a goal from Russ Teller at 7:01 marker but that is as close as the Whalers would get. The Blues would go on to win the game by the score of 6-3 to remain undefeated on the season (3-0).
