Battle For Bronze: Dead River @ Whalers

In 5 games this season against the Dead Riverians the Whalers are perfect. They have scored 11 goals against Dead River twice but the last two games were pretty close. 4 weeks ago Dead River battled a very short-benched Whaler team to a 3-2 loss. They got their first win of the season in the first round of the playoffs with an OT stunner over the Nordiques and then trounced by the Gamblers 9-2 last week. The Whalers had a rough 5-3 loss to Tuck last week, and had it not been for a couple of softies the Whalers could be in the Cup Final instead of Tuck. The Whalers have owned Dead River all season, but the re-emergence of netminder Matty "The Eagle" Crowson has been the foundation for Dead River's success and late season turnaround. Crowson has single-handedly made Dead River competitive by regularly turning away 45-50 saves. His team sits back, watches him make saves and chips in timely goals when needed. The final line on this game is dependent upon the rosters. If the Whalers have Gaudet, Redpath & McGee this game could be a blowout, otherwise it could be close. The Odds are Whalers by 3 goals with an Over/Under of 9. Whalers 6-3

KP Hadley promised me dinner once after I bailed him out last minute once, I bet 3 players, a goalie and some hay bails w/ jerseys on taken from one of the mountains he skis at.
