Battle for Bronze
| ODDS: | Gamblers by 1 |
| OVER/UNDER: | 9 |
Both squads must temper their disappointment after dominant regular seasons on being upset in the semis last week in order to play inspired enough to win 3rd place instead of facing each other for the Whalen Cup on April 12th. The Gamblers only lost 1 game all season until last week, and that was to Tuck in the first game of the season. The Gamblers then went on a 22 game winning streak - a league record that will surely never be broken, and their 22-1-0 regular season is nothing short of remarkable. Tuck was solid all year, and rarely lost, and was in every game. Three losses were default due to school breaks and only because 2 or 3 players were around. Tuck's 16-6-1 record is one of the best ever, considering that they were only truly beaten 3 times in regulation in a real game.
This match-up is mostly for pride and bragging rights, and as the Nords, who have never lost a 3rd place game in UVHL history, know that still means something in April. Finishing strong is a point of personal and team pride. Right? Aw, who the hell are we kidding? Its just an excuse to blow off steam, have one last game before the golf clubs come out, and drink beer with our buddies and teammates! Even so, some of you may want a prediction: I'll go with the Gamblers by 1, I have a feeling Tuck's attendace will be low, and Yacey said he'd be iffy regarding whether or not he'd grace Tuck's net one last time.
