Tuck improves to 3-1 overall

In late game, we had Tuck hosting the Whalers without their faithful leader Kelly Park who was off sunning himself some place warm. If he looks tan next week, you know why!!!  Tuck came out hard just like they always do, making tape to tape passes and buzzing around with their fast-paced offense. The Whalers brought in “Little Sexy” aka Harris LaRock to replace “Big Sexy”, Tucker Garritty-Hanchett who was out with a tooth ache.  LaRock making his UVHL debut was ready to play and turn Tuck’s shots away early and often.  Tuck was finally able to get one past LaRock at 5:53 on a goal by Ryan Cassidy to put Tuck up 1-0 heading into the second period.

In the second period things would remain the same until the Whalers Nate Robinson would tie the game up at 1-1 at the 10:47 mark.  It took little over two minutes before Tuck responded back on a goal by Stefan Soucy who is leading the league goals through 4 games.  The two teams would exchange chances, but it was Luke Stickel who put up the puck in his defensive end, blow by the Whalers defensemen outside and pop the puck over “Little Sexy” glove to put Tuck up 3-1 with 1:06 to go in the period.

In the third Tuck had all the momentum until they iced it and had a defensive end face off. The Whalers Chris Inserra would win the face off back to Chuck Gaede, Gaede would stickhandle once and then let a twister wrister go that would be Brenden Kelley side to make the score 3-2 with 12:18 remaining.  The two teams would battle back and forth until the final minute when the Whalers pulled their goalie. While playing with six skates vs Tuck’s five, they had some chances, but Tuck was able to clear the puck out to the neutral zone. The Whalers when to collect it, they fumbled the puck which bounced right on Ryan Cassidy’s stick who would slide it home for his second goal of the night and give Tuck a 4-2 win.

Two takeaways from this game, 1. Tuck is still really good! 2.Don’t go on vacation mid-season to work on your tan and/or get a toothache!  However, if any team needs a sub at goalie you should look to Harris LaRock who stood on his head and kept the score reasonable!
