In the second semifinal game we had the top seed Labatt Blues hosting the fourth seed Lumberjacks. The game started off with both teams getting a few good looks but it wasn't until late in the period (4:50 mark) that the Jacks Jordan McGee would walk through the Blues defense and slam the puck home to give his Jacks a 1-0 lead heading into the 2nd period.
In the second the Jacks would get an early power play opportunity and again Jordan McGee would put the puck in the back of the net to give the Jacks a 2-0 lead with 13:17 remaining. After going down by 2-0 the Blues would strike right back with a goal of their own, the goal was scored by Keith Lazarczyk at 12:57. The Blues would then tie the game up at 4:18 on a goal from Tim Sharek. With the Blues looking like they are back in the game until they would take another penalty with 1:17 left in the period. The Jacks would make the Blues pay for this late power play chance as Evan Seely would give the Jacks at 3-2 lead with 53 seconds left in the period. The period would end with the Jacks having the lead and momentum heading into the third period.
In the third the Blues would take three straight penalties to start and even giving the Jacks a 5 on 3 PP chance, the Blues were able to kill off all the penalties and finally play five on five hockey for the last 7 minutes of the period. The Jacks would take two penalties of their own and give the Blues two chances and they even pulled their goalie for the last minute and five seconds in which they had a power play chance on so they were play 6 on 4. The Blues had a few wide open nets but they missed them and couldn't be the Jacks Ryan Libby in the final period. The Jacks would knock off the top seed Blues 3-2 and advance to the Whalen Cup Finals to play Tuck.
