The battle for 2nd place

In the first game of the night we have Tuck hosting the Gamblers. As the title says these two teams are playing for 2nd place but regardless of the outcome these two teams will play one another in the semifinals. The winner of this game finishes the regular season in second place and the loser finishes in third place. In the two meetings this year the Gamblers have won both games but Tuck has been playing their best hockey since coming back from their holiday break so they are getting the edge tonight. Tuck will win this game by the score of 4-2.

In the final game of the season between Tuck and the Gamblers we had a game that didn't mean much other then who finished in 2nd and 3rd place as both teams will meet again this coming week in the semifinals. The game would start out with Tuck coming out hard but the Gamblers Ryan Van Schoick would turn away shot after shot. The Gamblers would then take the games first penalty but Tuck couldn't capitalize on it and then Tuck would return the favor to the Gamblers with 5:05 remaining in the period. While on the power play the Gamblers would turn the puck over to Tuck's Andrew Cox who would skate in and score the games first goal shorthanded at 4:38. Although the Gamblers gave up a shorthanded goal they would answer back before the period came to an end as Travis Poublon would tie the game at 1-1 with 1:16 remaining. The period would come to an end with the score tied at 1-1.

In the second period the Gamblers would take a penalty 54 seconds in to give Tuck a power play. On the PP Tuck wasted no time scoring on the PP with a goal from Mark Piana 16 seconds into the power play (13:50). Tuck would strike again to go up 3-1 on a goal from Nick Hunnewell. The Gamblers would pull within one goal on a goal from Troy Miller with 6:51 remaining. Tuck's Nick Hunnewell would score his second of the night before the second period was over (3:46) and put Tuck up 4-2 heading into the third.

In the third both teams would exchange power play chances but it was Tuck once again scoring shorthanded, to go up 5-2 on a goal from Andrew Cox at 8:00 mark. With Tuck in full control of this game Brodie Stone would put the icing on the cake with a goal at 6:11 to give Tuck a 6-2 win over the Gamblers.
