In the second game of the night we had the Whalers hosting the Blues. The Blues came into this week off a 4-0 win over the Gamblers and the Whalers are coming in off a 6-3 loss to the Jacks. Although the Whalers haven't been winning many games they have improved and coming together as a team. In the opening minutes the Whalers came out buzzing and they would jump on the board first as Dillan Pierce would score at 11:32 mark. The Blues would then get into penalty trouble and take three straight penalites. The Blues TJ Moran who would tie the game at 1-1 with a short handed goal with 3:03 remaining in the period. The period would end with the score tied 1-1.
In the second period the play was back and forth as the only goal that was scored was by the Whalers Dillan Pierce at the 3:07 mark to give the Whalers a 2-1 lead heading into the third.
In the third period the Blues picked up their play as Ray Sprague would tie the game 2-2 with 11:21 mark. The Whalers didn't give up though as they would grab the lead back on a goal from Ryan Quinn with 7:32 left in the game. Trailing 3-2 the Blues kept fighting and it would finally payoff as Trevor Billings would tie the game 3-3 at the 3:48 mark. The Blues gained the momentume on a tired Whalers team that only had 9 guys and missed out on 3 power play chances in the first. The Blues Keith Lazarczyk would give his team the first lead of the night with 2:14 remaining and the BLues would hold on to win the game by the score of 4-3.
