In the final game of the night we have the only game that has playoff implications as the Whalers host the Nords. The winner of this game will take over sole possession of 5th place and not have to play the higher seed in the first round of the playoffs. The game started out with the Nords grabbing a quick lead going up 1-0 on a goal from Nico Brands at 11:08. Sixteen seconds later Nico Brands would get his second of the night and put the Nords up 2-0. The Nords weren"t done there though as they would add another goal with 2:38 left in the period from Poli Nightingale to put the Nords up 3-0. The Whalers Cody Steadman would make the score 3-1 as he would notch a goal with 1:27 left in the period. The period would end with the Nords up 3-1 as they looked in charge of this game heading into the second.

In the second the Whalers would build off their goal late in the first and score 38 seconds into the period on a goal from Patrick Riley to make the score 3-2. The Whalers would then tie the score 3-3 with 10:19 remaining on a goal from Dillan Pierce. The Nords would battle back and score the games next goal at 8:21 as Peter Scalia put the Nords up 4-3. The Whalers Scotty Shaw would tie the game at four with 7:10 remaining. The Whalers would strike again four more times (James Kerrigan, Shaw (2nd), Patrick Riley (2nd), Jason Rouillard) before the period was over and grab an 8-4 lead heading into the third.

In the third the Nords looked tired as their short bench was getting to them and the Whalers would pump in one more goal to put them up 9-4 on Patrick Riley"s 3rd goal of the night with 7:43 remaining. The Nords Peter Scalia would get one more for the Nords to make the score 9-5 but that is as close as it would get as the Whalers would win 9-5. With the win the Whalers will play the Jacks at 9:25pm and the Nords will face off against Tuck at 8:10pm this Tuesday. Its playoff hockey season and a whole new season where anything can happen! See you all at the rink this Tuesday!

*It should be noted that Colin Farr finished the night with 45 saves and he has set the single season record for saves as he made 30-50 saves night in and night out this year.
