In the first game of the night we have the red hot Whalers taking on the Blues. The Whalers come into tonight on a two game winning streak after knocking off the Gamblers with a little over a minute left in the game. The Blues come into tonight after receiving their first loss in regulation last week to the Jacks. Look for the Blues to bounce back and take out their aggression out on the Whalers, the Blues will win this one 6-2.

In the first game of the night we have the Whalers hosting the Blues. The Blues look to get back on track after suffering their first loss of the season and Whalers look to keep their win streak alive. The Whalers came out hungry from the drop of the opening faceoff, with the pressure on the Blues early in the game it caused them to take the game"s first penalty. The Blues were able to kill of the penalty behind Jay Seals solid goaltending to keep them in the game. The Blues would score the game"s first goal at the 5:34 mark when Keith Lazarczyk tipped in a shot to put the Blues up 1-0. On the following faceoff the Blues won the face off back to Mike Anderson who entered the Whalers zone and put a low hard slapper past the Whalers Kenny Lallier to make the score 2-0 just ten seconds later. The Blues would add a third goal from Tim Barrett to put them put them up 3-0 with 3:36 remaining in the period. The Whalers would finally get on the scoreboard with 2:57 left in the period as they got a goal from Matt Gauthier making the score 3-1. The period would end with the score 3-1 and if Seals hadn"t shown up to play the score could have been in favor of the Whalers as Seals made 14 saves in the first to Lallier's five saves.

In the second period the Blues would take a penalty and put the Whalers on a PP just 52 seconds into the period. With the Blues down a man, they would eventually kill the penalty off but not before Ray Sprague would score a shorthanded goal on a breakaway at 12:59 mark to put the Blues up 4-1. Shortly after killing off the penalty the Blues got a power play of their own and they were able to capitalize on it with Tyler White scoring to put the Blues up 5-1. The period would end with the score 5-1 Blues but this period it was Lallier who finished with 16 saves (two period total of 21) and Seals with 10 (a two period total of 24).

In the final period of the play the Blues continued to keep the pressure on as they would put the game out of reach with their 6th goal from Ray Sprague at 10:22. The Whalers would get a couple of power plays but they were unable to beat Seals. The Blues would add two goals late in the period, the first from Tim Barrett and the last goal from TJ Moran to make the final 8-1 Blues. Again Seals had another solid period (13 saves, three period total of 37 saves) and helped his team to another win. Meanwhile the Whalers Lallier finished with 29 saves on the night.
