In the second game of the night we have the Whalers hosting the Gamblers. Both teams coming into this week off losses, the Whalers lost in a shoot out to the Nords and the Gamblers got their first loss of the season to the Blues. The Gamblers have won the last 16 meetings going back to the 2012-2013 season (including playoffs), the will look to keep that streak alive tonight and bounce back with a 7-2 win over the Whale.

In the second game of the night we have the Whalers hosting the Gamblers. Both teams come into this week off losses, the Whalers lost in a shoot out to the Nords and the Gamblers got their first loss of the season to the Blues. Like the first game both teams were light on numbers as each team had 9 skaters a side but that wouldn"t slow the scoring down in this game. The Whalers would get on the board first when Mike Avery opened the scoring at the 12:28 mark. The Gamblers would answer back just two minutes later when Jason Gramling put the puck past Kenny Lallier to tie the score at one. The Gamblers would keep the scoring going as they would put two more past Lallier, the first coming from Dan Ammel at 8:02 and then Ryan Bergeron would score with 5:10 left in the period. The period would end with the Gamblers up 3-1.

In the second period the Gamblers came out and scored first, the goal was scored by Mike Yukica just 1:45 into the period to put the G-men up 4-1. As the Gamblers looked to be in full control of this game the Whalers picked up their play for the remainder of the second period and they would score three unanswered goals. Scotty Shaw would score with 12:21 remaining to make the score 4-2. Patrick Riley would score the games next goal at 7:16 to make the score 4-3, then the Whalers would tie the game with 1:19 left in the period on Matt Gauthier goal. With the score tied at 4-4 the period would end with the Whalers taking it to the Gamblers looking for their first win of the season.

In the third period the Whalers continued playing hard hockey and looking to take the lead back from the Gamblers, they were able to do so when Kirt Johnson scored with 9:55 left to play. The Gamblers were able to tie the game at 5 when Kenny Lallier miss played the puck as Jason Gramling was able to capitalize on his mistake with 6:16 left in the period. The Whalers didn"t give up there as they kept playing hard until the final buzzer and it paid off as Patrick Riley scored the game winning goal with just 7 seconds left in the game to give the Whalers the win. The Whalers would win this game 6-5 on the last second goal and this win would be their first on the season.
