In the first game of the night we have the Whalers hosting Tuck. The Whalers come into this week off a 10-4 loss to the Jacks, meanwhile Tuck comes into this week off a huge comeback win over the Blues in a shootout (7-6). In the first period the Whalers came out of the gate fast, taking it to Tuck in the first couple of minutes as Tuck only had 10 skaters. Tuck would eventually wake up and starting playing Tuck hockey but the period would end in a scoreless time. The pace and play of the game was back and forth as each team was looking for the game"s first goal.

The second period favored Tuck who scored just 49 seconds in for the game"s first goal. The goal was scored by who else but Will Collins assisted by Marcus Widell and Shawn Curley. Tuck kept the pressure on the Whalers now that they had finally woken up and it paid off as the would score their second goal of the night at 6:54 when Mark Rautiola would score on 4 vs. 4 play after each team took penalties to offset one another. The period would end with Tuck up 2-0.

Both teams came out hungry in the third, it was a fast paced game as both teams were searching for the next critical goal. Both teams were battling back and forth for the first ten and half minute"s but it was then when Tuck"s Jared Pomerance scored a nice backdoor pass from teammate Adam Yang to put Tuck up 3-0 with 4:30 left in the period. Tuck would then strike again at 3:49 when Sean O"Toole would beat Lallier to puck putting Tuck up 4-0 and well in control of this game. The Whalers didn"t give up as they would get a goal from Patrick Riley at 2:32. Tuck"s Mark Rautiola would seal the deal for Tuck when the Whalers put a pass right on Mark"s stick and he would skate in put the game"s final goal past Lallier to give Tuck a 5-1 win. Although Tuck had a short bench and it took them a while to get going, they were able to pull off the win to improve their record to 3-1. Tonight was the first time the Whalers put a solid team effort in for 45 minutes but it was the skill of Tuckies that held them from winning but the Whalers are improving each week and that first win will come very soon.
