The second game of the night features Tuck who comes into this game with a 5-4 record (last week"s forfeit didn't help them) sitting in fifth place and looking to start the New Year out right and The Whalers who come into the New Year as the only team to not have a win in the 14/15 season. The Whalers came out hungry and pressuring Tuck from the drop of the first faceoff, the Whalers had multiple chances in the first couple minutes but they couldn"t find the back of the net. At 11:43 the Whalers Patrick Riley was able to finally get one past Rosen when he took a shot and was able to get his own rebound to stuff it past Rosen, 1-0 Whalers. Tuck pushed back but even with two power play opportunities were not able to get one past Kenny Lallier. The period ended with the Whalers up 1-0 as Lallier had 9 saves and Rosen had 13.

The second period saw Tuck come out hard and pushing for the tying goal. At 12:05 in the period they thought they had tied the game but the goal was called back due to kicking motion. With a chip on their shoulder Tuck pushed back and at the 8:23 in the second period they tied the game on a Spencer Vaughn goal as he took a shot low on the ice that Lallier couldn"t see through a screen. The Whalers continued to fight back as they ended up peppering Rosen with 15 shots but none of them would find the back of the net. The period ended 1-1 heading into the final frame.

In the third period both teams came out looking for the lead and both teams had plenty of chances but neither would score early. Then at 10:29 in the period Conrad Trimbath set up Johnny Mathias who took a shot low on the ice that beat Lallier putting Tuck up 2-1. Tuck didn"t stop there, on the insuming play Conrad Trimbath scored at 9:55 putting Tuck up 3-1. At this point it looked like Tuck had taken control of the game, but just 26 seconds after going up 3-1 the Whalers James Kerrigan pulled the Whalers within in a goal at 9:29. Kerrigan was set up by Ryan Foss who had blocked a shot and flipped it out perfectly splitting the defense and sending Kerrigan in on a breakaway. Both teams continued to push for the next goal and in doing so the Whalers were able to get to two power plays late in the game but they were unable to capitalize on them. Tuck was able to hold on for a 3-2 win as Rosen finished the night with 37 saves and he was the difference in this game.
