In the third game we have Ramuntos vs. the Lumberjacks; Ramuntos comes into this game with a 5-4 record and sitting in 4th place, struggling as of late but looking to change that in 2015. The Jacks come into the New Year with the league"s best record at 7-2. Although the Jacks lost their last game to the Gamblers, look for them to get back on track and to keep rolling. Ramuntos came out ready to play tonight and were able to get on the scoreboard first. Sophie Leclerc made a great defensive play, picking the Jacks D and going in on a breakaway beating Lary putting Ramuntos up 1-0 at 8:41. The Jacks pushed back and tied the game at 7:05 when Gary Laperle put a onetimer home on the backdoor; he was set up by line mates Tim Patten and Loren Lunt. The Jacks then took the lead at 5:36 when Jordan McGee scored after being set up by Colby LePerle and Jared Labelle. The period ends with the Jacks up 2-1 after one.

In the second period Ramuntos came out hard wanting to tie the game. They were able to do so at 13:35 mark when Justin Lawrence beat Lary as he was set up by Jason Rasco and Matt Littler. The Jacks then answered back with two quick goals, the first goal was at 8:05 from Colby Laperle who came in on a 2 on 1, he then sniped one past Matt Albertazzi to put the Jacks up 3-2. Then on the next faceoff Colby LePerle got the puck from Marc Gattie and came down the side and beat Tazzi again to put the Jacks up 4-2. Just about 20 seconds later Ramuntos answered back when Max Major put one past Lary to pull Ramuntos within one goal, 4-3 Jacks. The period finished with both teams having a few more chances but neither could score, the Jack were leading 4-3 heading into the third.

In the third period Ramuntos took a penalty just 52 seconds in, on the power play the Jacks were able to cash in when Tim Patten scored as Jordan McGee set him up, Jacks 5-3. Ramuntos didn"t give up as they fought back again and were able to get the lead down to one goal when Justin Lawrence scored off a nice pass from Max Major on a 2 on 1 play, 5-4 Jacks. That is as close as it would get though, the Jacks hung on and were able to score an empty net goal to win the game 6-4 and remain in first place. Both goalies played well as Zach Lary finished the night with 33 saves and Matt Albertazzi with 31 saves.
