Surprise...Gamblers Rout Dead River 14-1

Ouch...the Gamblers put up two touchdowns tonight against the Dead River Oilers, that can't be good for DR's netminder Gregory "Bin Laden" Feiden. In Feiden's defense, this easily could have been a Green Bay Packer type of offensive output, more like a 33-0 win if he hadn't stood on his head for 45 long minutes.

Feiden's counterpart at the other end of the ice, Jeremy "Sleepy" Seidling had a much easier night, seeing a grand total of 9 shots, stopping 8 of them in his sleep and waking up as the other went past him for Dead River's lone goal.

The Gamblers had their typical gaudy production from their top line of Matty "El Matador" Marrazzo, Danny "Danimal" Ammel & Willy "Mighty Mouse" Meyer...AKA the MAM line. The MAM line put up 6 goals and 7 assists on the night. With that production and Topo "The Bottomo" LaCroix adding a goal and two assists, the Gamblers now have the top 4 point producers in the UVie this season:

Marrazzo - 42 pts
Meyer - 40 pts
Ammel - 35 pts
LaCroix - 21 pts

Pretty fucking disgusting if you ask me. They played a perfect game against the less talented Dead River team, dominating play, and grinding DR down. They netted three goals in the first period, 7 in the second and 4 more in the third.

The only low-light to the evening was Jason "Angry Slapper" Young was the ONLY Gambler held without a point, but in his defense he did what he does, taking 10 slapshots and adding a pair of PIMs.

Their second line pivot, Allison "Captain Hook" Malcolm recorded her second hat trick of the season and newly acquired Martin Tomanik had four helpers in the win.

The Gambler's defense was solid in all three zones, with Ryan Bergeron and Mike Harrington each adding a goal and assists and Nick "Old" MacDonald putting in a pair of goals himself.

Seidling was there, not that he had to do too much, but he escaped without frost-bite or a pulled muscle so it was a Win Win for him. Feiden was overworked and in all reality would rather let up 14 goals and see 100 shots than be in Seidling's position and stand around for 45 minutes...or at least that is what he told me. Feiden did just that, playing for the Gamblers last season before chasing the money and glory and accepting an offer with Dead River. Is it a move he regrets? Not sure, but after he kills one of his team mates, I think that question will be answered.
