Storm Kings bring Brewers back down to earth with a 6-man 6-5 win.

The matchup between the Brew Crew & Storm Kings had the glimmer of playoff implication......that is if the Kingers were to outscore the Brewers by a margin of 6 goals, Earlier in the year, the Brewers DISMANTLED the Kingers in a 10-4 win that set the tone for the Mud League. This ended up being a great game, that despite a Brewers loss, still garnered them the luxury of playing the lowly Nordiques in the first round of the playoffs.

Driven by an excellent game from Matty "The Mailman" Marrazzo (2g, 1a, 2 PIMs), Ian "The Grinder" Gill (1g, 2a & 2 PIMs), "Angry" Ricky Hughes (1g, 2a) the Storm Kings finished off the short mud league season with back to back wins for the 2nd seed in the playoffs. In net, Dan "Le Eiffel Tower" French was OUTSTANDING as he turned away 48 shots, many of them EXCELLENT SAVES against the high powered offensive machine of the Brewers.

The Brewers kept it close behind a solid night from Joey "The GOON" Lyle (1g, 2a), Nick "The Stick" Bayley (1g, 1a) & Dan "Man Tits" Charette (2 assists). Their goaltending was substandard as Petey "Fish Nets" Bartline fell apart late in the game for the second straight week as he allowed 2 goals in the last 7 minutes and 6 goals on 37 shots for the night.

The beginning of the game was extremely lopsided for the first 5 or 6 minutes as the Brewers pounded the Storm Kings zone, outshooting them 17 to 9 in the first period. Despite the lopsidedness, the Kingers notched the first 2 goals of the game. Gilly opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal with 8:22 to go as he picked up a turnover in the high slot, fired a quick wrister then finished his own rebound on a downed Bartline. "The Milkman" Marrazzo put the Kingers up 2-0 just 63 seconds later after receiving a PERFECT breakaway pass from "Angry" Ricky. The Brewers' Garren "Stix" Poirier was chasing him down, SPEWING vulgarities at him as Marrazzo beat Bartleby with a quick snapper through his giant, gaping, exorbitantly large FIVE-HOLIO.

END OF THE FIRST: Storm Kings 2, Brew Crew 0
SAVES: French(STK) 17, Bartline(BRW) 9

Poirier redeemed himself just 19 seconds into the 2nd period with a seeing eye-puck LASER from the point, assisted by "Lucky" Lyle. The Brewers resident goon Chris "Kick Me OUT" Adams tied the game up at 8:32 after taking a shitty pass from Lyle at center ice. Adams cut back at the blue line, coasted in looking for an outlet before using the defenseman as a screen and lighting up Frenchy high blocker, just under the cross bar. "The Milkman" delivered again only 22 seconds later as he picked a defenders pocket and rushed in on his 2nd breakaway. He made a quick move across the crease to his backhand but was denied by Bartline, only to jam in his own rebound. "The Stick" tied the game up with 6:44 to go as he busted down the far boards, turned Ronnie "The Dancing Sprite" Dupuis inside out before cutting across the slot and firing the puck under the arm of a diving Frenchman.

"Sticky" Ricky Hughes gave the Kingers a 4-3 lead with just 1:23 to go in the 2nd period off of an Gill pass to close out the scoring in the 2nd. On another note, the Brewers Chris Adam's was ejected YET AGAIN with 48 seconds to go, as he just doesn't seem to GET IT and continually let's his emotions get ahold of him. He was booted for a blatant spear on the Kinger's Ronnie Dupuis.

END OF THE SECOND: Storm Kings 4, Brew Crew 3
SAVES: French(STK) 15, Bartline(BRW) 11

The first 8 minutes of the 3rd was a chess match, as both teams traded scoring chances and saves. It wasn't until 7:45 that the Brew Crew tied the game up AGAIN behind a Chris "TURTLE TIME" Johnson goal assisted by Bayley & "Chunk A Lunk" Charette. The Storm Kings bounced RIGHT BACK, just ten seconds later as Marty "Wrinkles" White, popped 12 viagra before his shift and finished a "Milk Man" pass for the 5-4 lead. The Brewers weren't about to give up and "Lucky" Lyle netted the game tying goal just 53 seconds later to knot the game at 5 apiece.

The last 6 minutes was a teeter totter of action, back and forth making everyone in the arena a bit sea sick. The Kingers finally stuck it to the Brewers with just under 2 minutes to go, as Dupuis finished a pass from Gilly for the go ahead goal.

THAT'S THAT: Storm Kings 6, Brewers 5
SAVES: French(STK) 16, Bartline(BRE) 11
