Shawn McDermott: usually known for his lead feet; stay at home tendencies; and ability to down 50 wings at Bentley's. The word "intimidating" isn't the first that comes to mind when thinking about McD.

Like an oceanliner, he takes a few miles to hit a comparable speed, but like an ocenliner, once he hits that speed, the smartest thing to do is get the heck of the way before he shatters your world.

On Tuesday, McD saw his opening to jump into the offense and logged the puck from one of the ice to the other. About the time he hit the red line, I went from a joking mindset (see the first paragraph) to an intimidated mindset (see the second paragraph). At which point I realized that McD (or in this case McOffense) had a full head of steam and had set his course straight in my direction.

Now, I'm not the biggest or strongest guy in the league, but I refuse to back down to anyone, especially when I'm defending my own end. But, on Tuesday, I realized that for my own safety, perhaps I should just get out of the way on this one.

...Which leads me to the obvious conclusion that Shawn McDermott and his "Winged" Feet make him the most intimidating player in the league!
