 | SHOOTOUTS! Stats! Feb 11th, 2010 02:29 PM 4 Total Responses
Hey guys, I was doing a little research on the Nordiques Shootout history, since we got blanked in all 4 shootout attempts this week against the gamblers. I found some interesting tidbits.
MOST CAREER SHOOTOUTS: Matty Marrazzo (GMB) 1 for 11
MOST CAREER GOALS: Nick Bayley (BRE) 5 for 8
WORST PERCENTAGE: Ian Coates (NDQ) 0 for 7
PERFECTION (MIN. 2 ATTEMPTS) ROB BARKER (STK) & Brian Flemming (TCK) both 2 for 2
BY TEAM:
Gamblers (18%) 13 for 72
Nordiques (24%) 14 for 59
Brewers (39%) 22 for 57
Tuck (37%) 14 for 38
Whalers (17%) 4 for 24
Storm Kings (28%) 5 for 18
Dead River (33%) 1 for 3
OTHER NOTABLES:
Willy Meyer 1/8
Mike O'Neil 3/9
Roger Phillips 2/5
Scotty Shaw 1/2
Jim LeCLair 1/2
Alex Brands 1/2
Rob Pattison 1/2
Drew Crapser 1/2
Ryan McGovern 1/2
I'm very surprised by the Gambler's percentage.

| shootout percentages v slot opportunities Feb 11th, 2010 03:01 PM
NHL statistics show a greater probability of goal scoring when the offense creates a shot opportunity from the slot, than on a penalty shot/breakaway.
breakaways/penalty shots run around 33% while shots from the slot after movement are 50% and higher.

 | Where are YOUR stats, Park? Feb 11th, 2010 04:40 PM
Did you forget your stellar 2 for 15 shootout mark, and 13 for 15 miss the net stumbling over yourself streak?
I, on the other hand, am a perfect 0 for 0 because we've never had a Nords shootout that got to the last guy picked yet.
With respect to the Gamblers, their goalies have saved the majority of shootout attempts, so their low percentage of scoring still got them several wins (3 this season alone, I think) in OT.
Interesting stats! Thanks, eh!

McD Don't worry about it McD.....I'm bringing a printout to every game from now on. I'm 2-8 lifetime.....with 6 slight misses with a stumble head first crash into the end boards.
Jordy, you are 2-6 lifetime!
