Brew Crew @ Whalers
This should be a great game to watch as the Brewers and Whalers have split the season series 2 games apiece. All of the games have been close except for a 7-2 blowout win by the Whalers back in November.
The Whalers won the last game as well in an 8-6 barn burner, that came down to the wire.
Historically the Brewers have owned Kenny "LaStache" Lallier and the Whalers, but the youth movement in Whalers camp has leveled the playing field.
The Whalers have the momentum and the guns to take this game.
Whalers win 7-6.
Whalers Secure 3rd Place With 8-2 Win Over Nordiques
It was all Whalers all the time in their 8-2 thrashing of the Brewers. The Whalers used 5 different goal scorers and 9 players made the scoresheet with points. Four players recorded a three point night and another two had a pair of points.
Leading the way were Joe Gaudet & Nicky "Sticky" Hall both with a pair of goals and assists. Jay "The Boni" Zanleoni and Chris "Google Me" Gogan both had a trio of assists.
Kenny "LaGlove" Lallier, who was horrible in a Mud-League game the night before was "AWESOME, played his best game of the season" recalled one of his forwards about Lallier's 27 save, 2 goals allowed performance.
The Whale went up fast, amassing an unsurmountable 5-0 lead after 40 minutes of play, but the Brewers ruined Lallier's shutout bid on a Billy "Dr. Fluffer" Fletcher goal 3:33 into the final frame.
The Whalers added another pair of goals from Dillan "Fierce" Pierce and Hall before the Brewer's Keith "Bubba" Lazarczyk scored his 19th of the season. Lazarczyk maintains his goal a game pace for the season and despite scoring 19 so far he is a -78 plus/minus on the season.
Gary "The Pearl Necklace" Laperle closed out the scoring from Chucky "Big Gulp" Gaede and Jon "Stalled" Stallsmith.
The Brewers bench was just too short to roll with the Whalers who were carrying 4 additional players on their bench. Lallier was superb and the Brewer's Matty "Spazzy" Albertazzi was good but didn't get much help.
Don't forget to vote for the Long Trail Player of the Week! A case of beer is on the line, eh!
