Nordiques @ Gamblers

The Gamblers have had great success against the Nordiques this season, routing them in three of their four contests. The last coming on February 7th with an 8-0 shutout.

The Nordiques sit at .500 with a 10-10-0 record losing 4 of their last 5 games. Their offense has been brutal, scoring just 12 goals in that span. Their defense and goaltending have been even worse allowing 30 goals in that same timeframe.

The Gamblers are the fucking Gamblers...they win, they usually win big and this game should be no different. The Gamblers offense is too dynamic, their defense is too strong and their goaltending too steady to be upset tonight.

The Nordiques came into week 20 hoping to put an end to both their losing streak and the Gambler's perfect season and walked away shaking their heads.

They battled tough for almost two periods but the Gamblers did what they do best and continued to pound their opponent for 45 full minutes and blew the game open with 5 goals in the last 18 minutes of play.

The Nordiques bolstered their defense with the Whaler's Jay "The Boni" Zanleoni who played a tough blueline and contributed with an assist.

The Gamblers spread out the scoring tonight, using 7 different goal scorers and for the first time this season their captain and league-leading goal scorer Willy "Mighty Mouse" Meyer was kept out of the goal column.

Jumping out early on goals from Ryan "Boogey Man" Bergeron and Topo "Bottom-O" LaCroix, the Gamblers seemed as if they were in control of this game but the Nordiques battled back with a quick pair of goals just 11 seconds apart from Eric Krivitzky and Ian "The Grin" Coates. That tie was short lived as Matty "The Milkman" Marrazzo delivered a bottle of sour milk right to the Nordique's crease, unassisted.

"Fierce" Pierce Mayhew tied the game early in the second for the Nordiques and the next 11 minutes were scoreless until Allison "The Hook" Malcolm scored with 2:19 remaining and Ryan "The Other LaCroix" LaCroix in the final minute of the period.

END OF THE SECOND: Gamblers 5, Nordiques 3

The G-Men scored all three goals in the final frame, two coming from Marc "The Narc" Gattie and "The Boogey Man" Bergeron adding a pair of assists in the period. Marrazzo also added another goal, his 30th of the season.

The third was all Gamblers and the Nordiques just seemed to have run out of gas.
