Whalers Look For Redemption Against Brewers
After a week one shootout loss to the Brew Crew, the Whalers are hoping to turn the tides. With the addition of Joe Gaudet the Whalers are a different team from where they were to start the season. Gaudet has teamed up with Dillan Pierce and Jay Zanleoni to form one of the most formidable lines in the UVHL.
The Brewers have only one real blemish on their season, which was a 12-1 thrashing by the Gamblers. On the other hand, what team hasn't been absolutely destroyed by the Gamblers? The Brewers have also made some minor tweaks to their roster, picking up some youth and speed in Tim Barrett, but overall the highly skilled and extremely physical Brewers squad should overpower and frustrate the Whalers. They've learned to become excellent penalty killers due to their aggressive play.
Brewers win this on 5-4 or 6-4.
Whalers Baffle Brewers 7-2
The Whalers showed what they have to offer this season as they brought in all of the big guns. By adding "Jumbo" Joe Gaudet earlier this season and then bringing back the Two Youts A.J. Hamel and Cody Vose, the Whalers have put together a formidable offensive machine. Their top line showed that offensive prowess as the trio of Scotty Shaw, Gaudet & Dillan Pierce put up 11 points and five of their teams seven goals.
Scotty Shaw was on fire scoring a pair of goals and adding a pair of assists. Pierce matched Shaw's efforts with a pair of each as well and Gaudet had a goal and two assists to round out a fantastic night for the top line.
