Gamblers Look to Continue Historic Streak
In an epic start to any season, in any league, across any continent, for any sport, on any planet, in any universe or fairy tale or imaginary land or book of fiction...what I'm trying to say is that the Gamblers have had a decent start to the season.
Blah Blah Blah....MMA Line...Goals scored...Dead River...Give up lots of goals...ugly, no fun, blah blah blah, blowout...blah blah blah...Feiden...Bla Blah Blah...suicide.
Gamblers will win it....12-1.
Dead River Are Real Winners in 7-0 Loss to Gamblers
The Dead River Oilers beat Dead River Tonight 0-7...well they didn't really beat them on the scoreboard, but it was clearly a moral victory for the Oilers. Some odd setters had the Gamblers winning by 87 goals, most had them scoring at least 20 before the final line in Vegas was set at a 12 goal win for the G-Men.
In the end, it was another dominant win for the Gamblers, outshooting their opponent 52-16. Greg "Showtime" Feiden was clearly the best player on the ice, especially early on. Feiden made at least 20 big saves, trying to rally his team around his play. Unfortunately Dead River couldn't muster any goals against the Gambler's stingy defense and solid netminder Jeremy "The Seed" Seidling.
For the first time this season a member of the MMA line didn't get a POW nod, instead it was second liner Topo LaCroix who put 4 goals past Feiden. LaCroix and his linemates Allison "The Hook" Malcolm and Marc "The Narc" Gattie were also excellent putting up a combined 7 points on the night.
Despite Dead River's focus on shutting down the MMA line, they couldn't keep them off the board, as Willy "Weeble Wobble" Meyer had a pair of goals, Dan "The Animal" Ammel had a goal and Matty "The Milkman Always Delivers" had a season low 2 points with a pair of assists.
Don't forget to vote for the Long Trail Player of the Week! A case of beer is on the line, eh!
